Protect Your Eyes - Your Vision - a Very Precious Commodity

What Your Eyes Need

I get letters

I recently  woke up with a severe pain in my left eye. There seemed to be a little white ulcer on my cornea which made opening and closing the eye almost impossible.  "Naturally" I visited the ophthalmologist to get relief as quick as possible.

This wise man made a quick diagnosis and stated that I had, what he called, a corneal melt.  When asking for more detail he said that my cornea would continue to disintegrate and, well, melt away.  Not to worry though because I could have a transplant after using prednisone drops in my eye for over a month.

Being familiar with homeopathy I searched the web for a remedy and came upon Dr. Z.  I found a Sanum remedy called Pleo Muc 5x. Eye Drops on his web page and quickly ordered it.  His wife Victoria mailed it to me overnight.

After the 2nd application of eyedrops the pain almost disappeared, and by the next morning it had vanished.  The ulcer-like growth on my cornea was much smaller and also disappeared after the second day.  So much for "corneal melt". To think what problems and grief this ophthalmologist might have caused me had I gone with treatment for his obviously false diagnosis. Thank you again, Dr. Z, you most likely saved sight in my lt. eye.

Upon your recommendation I have been using Pleo Muc Eye Drops twice daily since last March, approximately 10 months now. About a month ago I noticed my vision being not quite right. I went to see my eye doctor who discovered that my vision had actually improved from 5.0 to 4.0, roughly 20%.

He was quite surprised and recommended that get a blood test to rule out diabetes – he suggested that diabetes at times may improve vision for a short time. The blood test came back negative for diabetes. Thank you for the recommendation.

Dr. Z's comments

This has happened a few times over the past 20 years. My first and most memorable experience was with Emma G. who had been a faithful patient of mine for probably twelve years. At one point I decided to move my office from downtown Grass Valley to our home office four miles out of town. Because of transportation problems and her advanced age she was unable to keep up her personal appointments.

She had been on Pleo Muc Eye Drops for several years. One day she called me - she was in her mid nineties - to tell me that her prescription had to be decreased twice over the course of the prior two years. Her eye doctor had never witnessed anything similar in his entire career. She was very excited, as you can probably imagine.

What Your Eyes Need

All cells of your body have a job to do. The cells in your eyes give you the extraordinary capacity to see. Most of us tend to take this for granted, until our eyesight, our vision becomes worse.

The cells of the retina in the back of your eyes are constantly bombarded with light. The retina cells transform the incoming information into electrical impulses which are sent to your brain. Your brain in turn interprets these impulses as vision - your brain gives you the experience of seeing.

In order to do their job, the retina cells must have energy. We call this energy ATP.

How do the cells make this energy?

Well, they require three things:

  1. They require adequate oxygen.
  2. They also require a steady, balanced supply of blood sugar.
  3. The third thing they require is a sufficient amount coenzyme Q10, or CoQ10.

CoQ10 connects oxygen with blood sugar to make ATP.

Is your blood that brings oxygen from your lungs to your eyes. It is also your blood that brings blood sugar/glucose from your digestive system and your liver to your eyes.

Consequently, you must have good blood circulation for your eyes to work properly. This is especially important in the small blood vessels, the capillaries, supplying the cells of your retina.

Clinically I find the following two items very useful to support normal eye function:

Pleo Muc Eye drops

Homeopathic Ophthalmic Demulcent Medicine by Sanum/PleoSanum.
European practitioners report that this remedy may be useful as supportive therapy for

  • glaucoma
  • cataracts
  • conjunctivitis
  • dry eyes
  • macular degeneration
  • other visual disturbances

and support normal eye function, by improving micro-circulation inside your eyes, by making the blood flow better and more easily in your eyes. Better blood flow brings more oxygen and glucose to your eyes - two of the three key ingredients for optimal vision.

Co Q 100 Soft Gels

As we said earlier, Coenzyme Q10 is an essential part of normal function of all human cells. Present in the mitochondria (energy factories) of every cell, coenzyme Q10 is an essential factor in ATP (cell energy) production from glucose and oxygen.

Every cell of the human body needs it!

Understandably, the need for Coenzyme Q10 appears to be greatest in metabolically-active cells such as in the

  • nerve cells of the brain (neurons)
  • nerve cells of the spinal cord and peripheral nerves
  • heart muscle
  • gingiva (gums)
  • immune system
  • gastric mucosa (stomach lining)
  • retina of the eye

There is evidence that Co-Q-100 may be useful as supportive therapy in

  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Parkinson's
  • Diabetes
  • Periodontal Disease (Gum Disease)
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Gastric Ulcers
  • Immune Dysfunction
  • Visual disturbances - glaucoma - macular degeneration

Coenzyme Q10 appears to inhibit the oxidation of LDL cholesterol - much more efficiently than vitamin E. Consequently supplementing with Co-Q-100 may contribute to the slowing of atherosclerosis.

There is epidemiologic evidence in humans that uniformly shows a gradual decline in Coenzyme Q10 levels after the age of twenty. Supplementing with Co-Q-100 may very well contribute to the slowing of aging and age related degenerative diseases.
